Our environment for toddlers is built around a mixture of activities. We start to create structure in both an indoor and outdoor space and they can explore the world around them. Each toddler’s day is built around sensory based activities where they get to use their hands and express themselves. At this early age we start to concentrate on pre-writing and pre- reading skills. We place an emphasis on strengthening their hands and practice pinching, tracing, cutting, dotting, and focus on one to one correspondence. Each group is brought together to practice listening skills by reading a story, singing songs, and practicing the daily calendar. At this stage, they learn to follow more directives, life skills, and become more independent.
